Red Fire Farm & SNAP
Here at Red Fire Farm, we warmly welcome payment via the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). We love growing organic vegetables and we strongly believe our produce should be enjoyed by anyone and everyone!
To this end, SNAP benefits can be used to purchase produce at both our Granby store and all of our farmers market booths across the state. SNAP can also be used to purchase CSA farm shares (see more below). Not sure if you’re eligible for SNAP benefits? Find out via the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) screener here.

What is HIP?
The Healthy Incentive Program is an extension of SNAP where each month your household is allotted a monthly reimbursement for SNAP dollars used on the purchase of local fruits, vegetables, and certain edible plants when shopping at farmers markets, farm stands, mobile markets, and CSA farm share programs.

How Does HIP Work?
If you’re already enrolled with SNAP, then you’ll automatically receive monthly HIP benefits, too! When making a SNAP purchase of fresh produce, the cost of the produce is first taken from your current balance and then promptly reimbursed as the HIP benefit back into your SNAP account to use on additional purchases. It’s like free money! Reimbursement is available up to the monthly total allotted to your household, which breaks down as follows:
- As of July 1, 2025, households can receive up to $40 in bonus HIP funds per month
SNAP for CSA is a great way to take part in the CSA program, and take home your monthly HIP benefit!
