About Our Blueberries
The blueberries you’ll pick at Red Fire Farm are 100% certified organic. Unlike other berry-picking farms you’ll find in MA that use conventional growing methods and herbicides, our blueberries are hand-weeded and specially mowed to keep weeds at bay. We also use no chemical pesticides to ensure the berries you take home are chemical-free!
Did you know Red Fire Farm grows more than one variety of blueberry? Right now in Granby, you’ll find a selection of delicious berry types to pick, each labeled for your convenience out in the field. Blueberry varieties we currently offer include:
- Duke: A very nice berry found on big bushes.
- Patriot: Peak-picking early in season with extra big fruits. Considered one of the best for flavor!
- Sweet Heart: A special variety with a nice, sweet taste. Peak-picking in early July!
- Huron: An early/midseason variety named after the Great Lake. Great taste!
- Draper: A midseason-ripening berry that was bred in Michigan.
