
Red Fire Farm, a leader in organic farming with more than 100 acres in cultivation, seeks a Wholesale and Logistics Coordinator. We grow a wide diversity of food for several markets – CSA, wholesale, and retail. We’re looking for someone who is hard working, detail oriented and has the skills of an office accounts manager, but does it farm style.
The person in this role works closely with our harvest and packing managers to get the daily flow of produce from our fields (or from our root storage in winter) to the wash house and ultimately to our customers in Western MA and the Boston area. You will work directly with wholesale customers to get orders in, and then get those orders out and about on trucks. This role helps ensure our quality standards are met and is responsible for accurate, prompt deliveries as well as the transport of supplies, plants and other items between our two farm locations in Granby and Montague.
Great communication, both to customers and the farm team is the key for this position.

Wholesale Responsibilities:
- Meet weekly with farm owners and Harvest Manager to create wholesale availability list and share with customers
- Compile daily wholesale orders harvest/pack lists with accuracy
- Stay in touch with multiple departments throughout the day to keep information flowing
- Serve as primary point of contact and account handler for wholesale and distribution clients
- Update and maintain wholesale purchasing systems and tracking including purchase orders, invoices, monthly statements, collections communication, and individual wholesale client account systems
- Maintain current accounts and meet sales goals
Logistics Responsibilities:
- Coordinate schedule for pickup/delivery for fleet of 4 box trucks to get produce to destinations on time
- Hire and supervise drivers, train and provide feedback
- Assist with loading of trucks (ability to lift 30-50 lbs repeatedly is required)
- Provide quality checks at point of truck loading/ help provide feedback to harvest and pack
- Conduct basic vehicle checks (tires, fluids, etc) and communicate repair needs with mechanic and farm managers
- Be back up to cover a delivery route if needed
- Help improve flow for farm systems in relation to delivery
- Assist with purchasing farm supplies within costs and budget

- Computer savvy and proficient in Excel (Quickbooks a plus)

We can train the right candidate, and have team on hand who can help you get there, but we hope you come with great communication and problem-solving skills, care for customers, detail orientation and speed in computer work.
SCHEDULE: Full time, Monday through Friday on the farm, with some Sunday availability needed remotely for email and order lists. This position starts immediately and continues year round, with somewhat more hours in the summer and somewhat fewer in the winter.
SALARY: Salary commensurate with experience, includes paid sick time, the option of health insurance, and all the organic produce you can eat. Flowers too 🙂
