Due to unexpected illness, we have an immediate emergency opening for a farm manager or experienced tractor operator for our 7 Carver Street, Granby, MA 01033 farming location. This person will be largely responsible for day-to-day coordinating of tractor work, and production projects at our Granby farm with support from our team, and we can build it into a full management position over time.
We are seeking someone with
- tractor driving experience and proficiency (preferably with vegetable and fruit farming equipment.)
- a passion for produce farming.
- good communication skills
- leadership experience
This is a position requiring at least five days of work per week in the main season from April through November and can be made year-round with orchard pruning and other farm work. A valid drivers license and good driving record and interest in working with a diverse crew and produce are needed. On the Granby farm, Red Fire Farm grows about 40 acres of crops including some tree fruits, blueberries, storage vegetables, high tunnel and pick-your-own crops.
Compensation based on experience, with lots of organic produce available for eating. On-farm housing is a possibility.
