With 20-year tomato farmer Ryan Voiland. We'll be gathering at the farmstand in Montague to go over how to grow really good tomatoes in your garden. So many flavors and options! Get tips for choosing tomato varieties that fit your eating interests. Then we'll do a tomato planting demo and talk about best growing conditions.
Our farm has been growing heirlooms for many years and we have our latest list of favorites to share with you. Many of these specialty tomato varieties are also for sale at our farmstands, so you can pick some up when you come for the workshop. We had this workshop in Granby last year, so Montague this year! Learn what wild plants you can eat around here! A presentation by naturalist John Root with a walking tour to find where the edible wild things are on our Montague farm land. Meet us at 184 Meadow Road, by the greenhouses at 1pm. Parking by the tobacco barn with the Red Fire Farm banners on it.
Join us at the farm in Granby for a celebration of the strawberry during the peak of picking season! An afternoon with tastings in the barn, and a special evening meal made with our fresh seasonal produce, featuring strawberries. Details about the Soiree.
August 27, Saturday: Every year, we have an unbelievable selection of amazing and often award-winning tomatoes for you to taste. It's a great day at the farm, with everything from a 5K Tomato Trot field race to hay rides to cooking demonstrations to live music to crafters and a smorgasbord of local fare from area producers.
