Job Description
Our Granby farmstand is open from May 1 – at least October 31, 7 days a week. We are currently hiring for a part-time position. We are seeking someone with retail experience and an artistic sense of display to stock and manage the care of the farmstand in an efficient manner. Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and easily. Weekend and early morning availability a must. This is an immediate opening from now through mid November at the Granby farmstand. Our ideal candidate would then transition to a Winter Farmers’ Market staff member and driver position at our Montague location.
Granby Farmstand Responsibilities include:
– Keeping fresh produce on shelves stocked and accurately labeled
– Maintaining cleanliness of stand and overall stand organization
– Creating and implementing displays with the latest produce
– Cashiering and keeping records of products received
– Customer service including helping customers with purchases and questions about plants, produce and farm shares
– Assisting with maintenance of farmstand grounds
– Maintaining bedding plants and front garden
– Early Morning vegetable harvest for the farmstand
Farm Stand Position located at 7 Carver St in Granby, MA.
Winter Market Staff and Driver Responsibilities include:
– Loading a box truck with market infrastructure and produce
– Setup in a timely before the start of a market
– General cash handling and customer service while at the market
– At the end of each market return to the farm and unload the box truck
Market days are long and full of hard work, but these are coveted positions on the farm: the markets we work are a lot of fun, people love interacting with the public and bring back really useful feedback for the rest of the crew.
Winter Market Staff and Position based out of 184 Meadow Road in Montague, MA
Qualified applicants MUST have:
– A valid driver’s license and clean driving record (unfortunately you will not be considered for the position without this)
– Ability to work efficiently based on priorities
– Ability to self motivate and follow a list – much of this position is performed independently
– Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly and easily, and to hustle through a physically busy day
– Experience in customer service and retail
– Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and e-mail
– Familiarity with produce and garden plants a plus
– Ability to be a team player with a can do attitude
– Ability to commit for full season through November, plus Winter Market Season
– Passion for local food

LOCATION: Position located at 184 Meadow Road in Montague, MA.
JOB TYPE: Full-time
SALARY: $11.00 to $12.00 /hour plus all the organic produce you can eat.
