LIVE MUSIC

12 PM – Larry Dulong & Random Sightings kick off the festival with their old school band, that’s described as a cross between Bruce Springteen’s E Street Band and the Prairie Home Companion Band!

1:30-4PM – StompBoxTrio reaches deep into the wellspring of vintage American blues, funk, roots, and soul to bring folks a hip-shaking, foot stomping great time! The band features Evelyn Harris of Sweet Honey In The Rock on vocals & percussion, John Cabán on “Dobro” steel guitar, vocals & stomp box (analog bass-drum pedal) & David Rodriguez on wood bass, vocals & foot tambourine. Learn more about StompBoxTrio and their music via their website and Facebook page.

WILD EDIBLES WALKS

12PM & 2:30PM – Traverse the fields and hedgerows with John Root, our guest naturalist and wild edibles specialist. John will lead the walk (leaving from the back of the barn) and share his knowledge of how to identify and use the wild edibles that grow in our area this time of year. Come join and learn a skill that will last a lifetime!
Meet up at the back of the big barn to start the walk. The Wild Edibles Walk is funded in part by the Granby Cultural Council.

NESTING BIRD TALK & WALK

1:30 PM – Learn about the beautiful birds that live around the farm from Isabel Brofsky from the Department of Conservation at UMass. The first part will include photos and a presentation in the barn about her findings studying nesting birds on our farm and other farms in the valley. Then take a walk through the fields to learn about bird habits and habitat, and see if we can spot any birds in action!
Begins in the barn for the presentation, then continues outside for a walk.
