For this year’s Tomato Festival, Red Fire Farm is offering a number of special tasting sessions for the general public to sample our many varieties of tomato and provide crucial feedback.

Cherry tomatoes come in so many colors, shapes, textures and flavors. The best ones can bring a salad to the next level or turn snack time into a true adventure.  This year we have 37 different cherry tomato varieties planted in our fields, as well as some experimental varieties that we are growing as a trial for Johnny’s Selected Seeds in one of our greenhouses.  This tasting will explore 20-25 of the 2021 standout varieties, including all-time favorites such as Sungold and Matts Wild, but also some of farmer Ryan’s new favorites like Starlight and Midnight Pear from the galaxy series bred at Cornell University. Other crazy types to expect: Green Bee, Amethyst Cream, Blue Chocolate, and of course Cherry Bomb!  Come and taste your way through an explosion of flavor, and rate your favorites!
