We are seeking a few new folks to round out our incredible farm field crew for the 2023 Season! We are currently hiring for part and full time seasonal farm crew members to work at our Granby and Montague locations.
The farm is pretty big and you can expect to do a wide variety of tasks; a farm of this size offers a lot to learn within the different departments too. While the majority of the work for this position will be the harvesting of the 40+ varieties of vegetables we grow, field crew will be expected to help with hand weeding, hoeing, transplanting, row cover, tomato trellising and bulk crop harvest plus anything else that may pop up; you will rarely find yourself in the same field every day. The crew works hard but ultimately has a lot of fun.
We highly encourage people with previous farming experience to apply but are willing to train the right people from scratch.
Requirements
- Applicants MUST have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to be considered for the position; no exceptions. (We are looking for people who can drive themselves and other field crew members to our fields off of home farm.)
- A desire and willingness to work outside (in the rain and the heat & cold too!)
Necessary Skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and easily, and work physically all day
- Must work well in teams
- Must have a good attitude and be willing to learn
Schedule & Hours
We are looking to take people on now who can work through at least October. The season ends anywhere between the first week of November and Thanksgiving (with hours decreasing then as the days get shorter).
In Montague the hours are generally, Monday – Thursday 7 am – 6 pm and Friday 7 am – 4 pm or 4:30 pm, with optional work available on Sundays. In Granby the hours are generally, Monday – Friday 7 am – 5:30 pm, with optional work available on the weekends. We all take a one hour lunch break about mid-day. We are looking for people to work at least 3-4 days a week.
Job Type: Part-time* to full-time; seasonal
Location: These positions are based at either 7 Carver Street in Granby or 184 Meadow Road in Montague, Massachusetts. If you are interested in working between both locations please let us know!
Pay: $15/ hour to start
